Living in a foreign culture can be exciting, but it can also be confusing.
They decided that miscommunications were always possible,
even over something as simple as "yes" and "no".
-On her fist day in Micronesia, Lisa(alias) thought people were ignoring her requests.
Lisa gave up and left the store. She later learned that the woman had answered her:
She had raised her eyebrows, which in Micronesia means "yes".
-This remained Jan(alias) of an experience she had in Bulgaria.
She asked the waiter, "Do you have stuffed cabbage today?" He nodded his head.
Jan eagerly waited, but the cabbage never came. In that country, a nod means "no".

In some cultures in South Asia, the right hand is reserved for private matters such as wiping one's behind. It is very rude to offer to shake hands with that hand. Remember that as you go to countries like Nepal.

well, either way, i hope the resident understand that we are tourist and we isnt exactly know about those customs

Language and culture are define differently. Some customs and culture started long before what customs we see today. So, there is no point saying those customs are weird, it is good for everyone to accept and learn the culture before going to a new place. It shows respect and people will respect you.
