The Good
Strong production values.
The Bad
Abysmal controls and targeting are a constant struggle and crush every aspect of gameplay, from flight to combat The cinematic camera causes you to lose your bearings by zooming around every which way.
Timed mission objectives require too much precision.
Action is shallow and unrewarding.
Presentation
Fromthe opening movie to the dragon-flying-over-a-map chapter selectscreen, Lair has you engrossed in its medieval feel, which aninteresting story and quality VO perpetuates.
Graphics
It'sthe definition of a mixed bag. The FMVs look awesome; the in-game stufflooks great but chugs; and the custscenes using in-game assets lookframey.
Sound
There'sa sweeping score that really captures the moment and some quality voicework, but there are moments when you'll be attacking a catapult and itseems like a sound effect is missing.
Gameplay
Abus-like feel and Sixaxis controls kill this game. In wide-open areas,it's okay, but the moment you need precision, you realize you'rescrewed -- you can't corner, target or fight well.
Lasting Appeal
Thereare leaderboards to track, medals to earn and movies to unlock, but thefrustrating control scheme will probably stop you from coming back formore
Lair is a beautiful disaster
